-Word Processing Activity
After the warm up, students do the word processing activity for the day, about 15-20 minutes, by you modeling and then completing a task as a group, the students learn steps and why/when to use this feature. This is a new skill to introduce and/or clarify with students. As they complete the test activity, the student raises their hand for you to check the document on their screen. This gives you an opportunity to check for understanding and correct errors immediately. There are several practice stand alone pieces, on the resource page, and these skills can be practiced throughout the day in all content areas. The activity can be saved or printed. Google Drive is a good place to save for future review. Content Application page offers a game or activity that practices the skill within a content area.
-Drill and Practice
Students spend the remainder of the class period,5-10 minutes, working in the drill and practice software learning or becoming proficient in keyboarding. Check the resource page for the best keyboarding software for your students.
